CARFIE OF THE WEEK: CHANDLER ♂

If it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, Chandler is here for you! You have come to the right place if you're looking for a friend for life; our sweet and funny Chandler is waiting for someone to take him home and love him.
Summer might be pretty much year-round here in Curaçao, but when the rain starts to pour, Chandler will be there for you. If you think you could be the Monica to our Chandler, please don't hesitate to contact us at stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more info about this friendly guy.

CARFIE OF THE WEEK: KAS ♂

Meet 5-year old Kas. A while back, Kas spent his days roaming on a local beach looking for fresh water and something to eat. Fortunately, we were able to rescue him. Kas is now up-to-date with his vetting and ready to settle with his new family. Who wants to offer this guy a loving home?
One thing you should know about Kas is that he's very affectionate. He may not have always had the best experience with people, but this sweet boy has lots of love and affection to give. Are you looking for a soft, cuddly and very loyal furry companion? Kas is your guy!
Please contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com if you're interested in possibly offering Kas, or any of our other CARFIES, a forever home. Our adoption team will happily answer any questions you may have or help you set up a meet-and-greet.

CARFIE OF THE WEEK: RUSTY

Rusty is a happy, tail-wagging, loving boy. We estimate him to be about two years old. And although he's still a young dog, his favorite thing to do is sitting quietly with people and getting a little bit of love and affection. Rusty enjoys going for walks and car rides. He is friendly and confident around other dogs.
For more info about Rusty, or one of our other adoptable CARFIES, please contact our Adoption Team at carf.adoption@gmail.com. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

CARFIE OF THE WEEK: JORIS ♂

This cheerful guy, Joris, is 3 years old. He is very affectionate and becomes really enthusiastic when he can join you on an outing. He is a smaller medium-sized dog. After having stayed with us for quite some time, Joris is now ready for his forever home.
Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more info about Joris, or one of our other adoptable CARFIES. We'd be happy to tell you more about Joris or help you set up a meet-and-greet with this happy guy.

CARFIE OF THE WEEK: CARA

Imagine coming home to this happy face every day! This funny girl is named Cara, and she is just the sweetest snuggle bug. Cara is about 4 years old and is ready to move in with her forever family.
Cara would love to live a quiet life with someone (or a couple!) who will promise to love her and take care of her. She will love you back in tenfold!

Cara is a low-maintenance dog. If she has a comfy place to lay and her human to cuddle with, she is totally satisfied. She is a cuddle bug and is super resilient. This girl is going to make a family very happy!
Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more info about Cara or one of our other adoptable dogs.

CARFIE OF THE WEEK: MEEXY

We are hoping one of our long term senior residents will find her family this summer. Ladies and gents, meet Meexy. This beautiful senior girl is looking for a stable place to retire where she can get the love and compassion that she deserves. That's not too much to ask right, a home to call her own?

So a little bit more about our Meexy. She is our fluffy princess of 9 years old. She recently had her full medical check-up. Blood work: check. Dental: check. Nail trim: check. Meexy is sweet, sweet, sweet and is used to living with other dogs. She wouldn't mind being the only dog in the house either. As long as she's surrounded by love.

Please share and message us, if this girl might be a fit for someone you know. Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more info about Meexy or to set up a meet-and-greet.

CARFIE OF THE WEEK: PIEN ♀

One thing about Pien: once she knows and trusts you she is all love. Pien is about 2,5 years old. With her shoulder height of 50cm, she is a smaller size sheepdog, which she compensates for with her big heart. Pien has been in our care for well over a year now, but she's ready to move to her forever home.

Pien, how are you doing?
"I'm good, thank you. When I was first rescued by CARF, they helped me recover from a broken paw. I had a splint for several weeks and, I won't lie, I destroyed several cones. Although in my defense, that really was a team effort as my furry housemates helped me. My splint was removed last year, and the vet made sure I was also spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated. I'm healthy and feeling great!"

What do you look for in a human?
"I don't ask for much, really. Just someone to love, care for, and love me back in return. I guess I might need some time to get used to new people and settle into my new home, but once I'm comfortable around you, I am very loyal. Pinky-paw-swear."

How can people get in touch with you?
"That's simple. Just send an email to stichtingcarf@gmail.com, I check this email regularly and my human friends also keep a close eye on incoming mail. I would love to get invited to a meet-and-greet or answer any questions you might have about me."

CARFIE Of The Week: Westi

Westi is looking for a bestie! She is 22 months old which means her 2nd birthday is coming up soon. It's her biggest wish to celebrate her birthday together with her new family and toast to a happy lifetime together. Can you help us make her dream a reality?
So, a bit more about Westi. Truth be told, Westi can be a little shy at first when it comes to people. But if you're calm and patient and let her do things at her own pace, she will quickly decide you're her friend. The funny thing is, Westi does not have this cautious approach when meeting dogs! She's actually very social with other animals. Being adopted into a household that already has other pets, would be no problem at all for Westi.

Westi is as healthy as can be. She has been fully-vetted, is up-to-date with her vaccinations, and has been micro-chipped. In short, this girl is ready to get that second chance in life. If you can help Westi with her confidence, you will get a very loyal (and very adorable) best friend in return!

Basically, Westi is pretty perfect, and is sure to make her new family very happy. Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more info or to set-up a meet & greet with her. If you would like to learn more about our adoption process, we'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

CARFIE Of The Week: Hato ♂

Any senior dog fans out there? Hato is 11 years old and he is one of our first generation CARFIES. We very much wish him to have a place to call home for his golden years. This calm senior does not ask for much; food, drink and a nice place to chill. That's all that it takes to make him happy.
At 11 years old, Hato will make an ideal family member for a low-key household. He hasn't had a single accident in years, doesn't chew things that don't belong to him, and doesn’t get worried when his people leave. When you're out, he will spend most of his time snoozing, but he will greet you with wiggles and wags when you get back home.

This fluffy guy is good with other dogs of all sizes, is used to people, is great on the leash, good in the car, and behaves perfectly at the vet. And did we mention just how soft and fluffy he really is? Trust us, he's FLUFFY.

Senior dogs your thing? Then come meet Hato! Contact us at stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more information about Hato or to set up a meet-and-greet.

CARFIE Of The Week: Roel ♂

Roel is about 6 years old. He is a calm and mellow guy who would make the perfect roommate. He is a low to medium energy boy who doesn't like too much fuss around him. As long as he has a soft dog bed (or couch!) that he can curl up on with a good bone and drift off into a peaceful, snore-filled snooze, he's is happy.
What else can we tell you about Roel? Well, he loves cuddles and he appreciates good food. He also enjoys going for walks, dipping his paws into the ocean, and going on car rides. Roel is a well behaved dog on walks, but he's also a nice respectful boy in the house which is wonderful too.

Roel is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more info about Roel or one of our other adoptable CARFIES.

CARFIE Of THe Week: Heidi ♀

Meet 3-year-old Heidi. Heidi likes to take it slow when it comes to new relationships. She doesn't just rush right in and give you cuddles and kisses ― you've got to work for it a little bit. Once she trusts you, the loving and fun can begin!
Here's a little background information on Heidi. Heidi was in an awful condition when she entered our foster care back in 2017. She was skinny, scared, tail tucked, head down, and in desperate need of help. Luckily she was spotted by caring tourists who reached out to us for help. Thanks to these lovely ladies we were able to find Heidi and bring her into safety. Heidi was afraid of us and our leash so it took some effort to catch her as she was hiding underneath a wooden platform near Mambo Beach.

Heidi has lived with a foster family before and this is what they had to say about her: "Heidi enjoys going on walks and is pretty easy on the leash. Once she trusts you, she loves cuddles, pets, and hugs."

Heidi would love to find a patient adopter who will let her adjust to new situations at her own speed. Does she sound like the dog for you? Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more information.

CARFIE Of The Week: Moonchi ♂

Moonchi is wondering why he hasn't been adopted yet (and so are we!). We were going to write a long post about how awesome this guy is, but we decided it would be easier to just let Moonchi do the talking.
Moonchi, what would your ideal forever family be like?
"I'm looking for a human friend to enjoy life together. I really just want to love and be loved. I'm used to living with other dogs but wouldn't mind being the only dog in the family either."

What else do you look for in a forever home?
"I'd like a home where I can have a comfy bed, tons of sunbeams to soak up every day, and lots of tasty treats to nosh on between meals."

Do you enjoy going for walks?
"Oh yes, I do! I'm used to walking on a leash and I love going on nice outings."

What do you offer your new family?
"I'll return every ear scratch, every belly rub, and every single pat with a big 'ol kiss. In return for room, board, and love, I'll promise to always give happy greetings, sweet kisses, and a wagging tail. If you're my human, I will protect and love you with all my might."

Moonchi is 4-years old, laid back and ready for a home you need to meet this guy! Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com for more info or to set up a meet-and-greet. Moonchi checks this inbox regularly and is hoping to hear from you soon.

Sick, Scared, And Separated From Mom

These six puppies were recently dumped; sick, scared, and separated from their mother. Although we are already well over our maximum capacity (we are currently taking care of 140 dogs), we decided to take them on and give them at least a chance.
It's now been a few days since we rescued these puppies and we're relieved to share with you that all six are slowly healing. They are scheduled for another check-up by the vet for intestinal parasites and a third ivermectin injection for their mange later this week. Despite their bad start in life, they are the most adorable and loving souls. Please donate towards their vetting expenses if you can. Any and all help is greatly needed and appreciated.

This May, CARF (Curacao Animal Rights Foundation) enters its 11th year of rescuing dogs. Founded in 2008, we have rescued over thousands of dogs who have been neglected, abused and abandoned. Since we still receive zero government funding, we rely solely on donations and volunteers to care for the dogs until they are adopted.

Please help us cover expenses for these six little nuggets ― no donation is too small!
