Meet Elisa, a sweet and loving dog that experienced an unnecessary traumatic event. How someone can shoot a creature and leave them to suffer is beyond anything we can comprehend. But what a trooper this little lady is! She has recovered from her injuries and is ready to find her forever home.
Elisa is about four years old. She was found with her leg and torso full of bullets (!) at Playa Forti by our friends of Scuba Lodge Dive Center. They were able to bring her back to the Pietermaai District with them. And after that she was rushed to our vet. One of her legs was broken because of being shot at with hail.
This is what one of our volunteers had to say: “Elisa is very sweet and doing well, considering the trauma she’s endured. She is just a calm and loving dog, and I don’t see why anyone would intentionally hurt her. She is a bit shy, but once the ice is broken she is an affectionate and loyal dog. We want to make sure she goes to the best place possible. We just really want to see her as the treasured family member she deserves to be!”
Elisa has been micro-chipped, spayed, and is up to date on preventatives. All she needs is a special home with a big heart to love her forever. Those interested in adopting Elisa may contact us at carf.adoption@gmail.com.
