This week, we’re putting CARFIE Linda in the spotlight. She is about 4,5 years old and has been in our care for the last 2,5 years. Since May, she has been living with her foster family. And as much as she loves her foster family (and vice versa), foster is just a pit stop, with a forever home as the finish line. What do you think, can we get Linda adopted into her ideal home?
We found Linda at Curaçao International Airport, also known as Hato International Airport, together with several other stray dogs. When we first rescued Linda she had a TVT (small cancerous growth), but fortunately she has made a full recovery. She has also been spayed, micro-chipped, and she is up-to-date on her vaccinations.
This is what her foster family has to say about her: “Linda is well-behaved and gentle. When she first came to live with us, she was a bit shy and wasn’t too sure about us touching her. But she has really warmed up to people. These days, she will even come over to ask for attention. She enjoys going on car rides but her absolute favorite thing in the world is going for walks. If it was entirely up to her, she would go walk with us multiple times per day! She is perfectly fine walking on a leash, and after our walks she likes to just lay down and simply relax (to charge up for a possible next walk). Linda is currently living with two other CARFIES and she enjoys their company. She can get a little anxious when we encounter unfamiliar dogs during our walks, but she is getting better with that. Having visitors over is not a problem. Once our guests are seated, Linda is the first of all dogs to walk over to them and ask for a pat!”
Adopting Linda
Linda is looking for a family who will love and keep her for the rest of her life. If you’d like to adopt this fun-loving girl, send an email to carf.adoption@gmail.com and we’ll go from there! All adoption info and steps can be found here. Even if you can’t adopt Linda, you can help her by sharing her story to get the word out!
