? Yesterday morning, we discovered a dog we'd never seen before... right here, in our yard. Now for those who don't know this; our yard is completely surrounded by a high wall and on top of the wall mesh wire, which means that someone picked her up and has thrown her over the wall!
? The poor girl is in bad shape; she has bloody diarrhea, she's suffering from tick disease, anemia, she is dehydrated, and unable to drink and eat without assistance. Our vet thinks she's about 16-17 weeks old; he gave her fluids for her dehydration and the necessary injections and pills. She's very tired and extremely stressed out for obvious reasons. Fortunately, we were able to find her a caring foster home where she can relax and hopefully recover in peace. We have named her Dolce.

Happy Saturday everyone, we hope your weekend has started off well. We've been quite busy. We took in yet another puppy this week after receiving a plea for help ― this time from Claudia. She spotted this tiny puppy wandering in Brievengat. He was there all by himself; no momma dog, no siblings... the poor baby must have been so scared. Fortunately, Claudia was able to approach the puppy and after looking after him for a few days while a fosterspot opened up she brought him to us. We took the pup, who hasn't been named yet, to the veterinary clinic. Our vet was able to tell us the pup is about six weeks old. The little guy was covered in ticks, so he is on medication now. It might take some time, but we can't wait to see this little guy blossom into a curious, playful, tail-wagging sweetheart! He’s already melting hearts ?
We urgently need donations to help us keep on with our rescue work and to offer a second chance to the dogs who so badly deserve it!

What would we do without our pets, right? Especially while social distancing because of the coronavirus pandemic. Well, unfortunately not everyone feels that way. In the last few weeks we have received at least as many appeals for help as usual ― if not more. Today we're introducing you to little Zoya, another one of our latest rescues.
Last Thursday, Rowenda contacted us regarding a puppy who presumably had been dumped. Unable to take Zoya in herself, Rowenda reached out for help at different platforms without success. Fortunately, Rowenda was able to approach Zoya and bring her to us. Our vet estimated Zoya to be about 15-16 weeks old. She weighs only 5,10 kilos and was not in too rough shape as Rowenda had been feeding her for over a week.
Zoya has has been dewormed, vaccinated and, despite the circumstances, seems to be in good health and spirits. She is now in our care until she's ready for adoption. Zoya is still a bit shy but is currently playing with some fellow CARFIES. We have no doubt that she will make a great pet once she settles in. Stay tuned for updates!
