Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation commemorates 12-year anniversary

WILLEMSTAD, CURAÇAO - On Friday May 29, the Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation (CARF) celebrates it’s 12th anniversary. CARF was founded in 2008 by a group local animal advocates. Over the past twelve years, the foundation has successfully rescued, rehabilitate and rehomed close to 2.000 dogs ― both on the island and abroad.

Welcome to Curaçao, Kingdom of the Netherlands...

How sad is this? These dogs could barely stand and are in such pain. We do not have the funds or the space for these dogs but leaving them to die a slow, cruel and painful death was not an option.
They are quarantined and receiving the necessary care. If anyone can help us with donations, we have a wish list. Besides the obvious monetary help we can really use:

  • Hill's AD canned food
  • Organic cold pressed unrefined coconut oil
  • Puppy food (ProPlan or Infinia)
  • Towels and sheets
  • Beds
  • FOSTERHOMES
  • Forever homes for our healthy CARFIES

When will the Public Prosecutor act and fulfill their promises? We have been waiting for too long. Way too long.

For donations, please use the PayPal button on our website. For local transfer, you can use our bank account MCB 21199501 (address: Beshiweg 1, Willemstad, Curaçao). For donations in euros, please contact us per email (stichtingcarf@gmail.com) or Facebook.

Felis Dia Di Bandera!

On behalf of all of us at CARF, Sylvester says: "Felis dia di bandera!"

Happy Mother's Day!

A very happy Mother's Day to all women with human and non-human babies!
On this special day, all nine puppies want to wish their mommy a relaxed Mother's Day (only 8 puppies are showing, because well, number 9 had to take the picture...) While the puppies are having fun with the camera, Momma Perdita is enjoying some well-deserved quiet 'me-time'.

Thank you to all the great, strong, devoted, tender, sweet and loving moms out there; human moms and foster moms and puppy moms and mom-to-be's!

Want to help momma Perdita by offering a warm, loving and safe home to one of her babies? Contact stichtingcarf@gmail.com and we will happily set up a meet & greet.

Easter Comes, And Easter Goes (But Rescue Never Stops)

Good morning! It was a hectic and busy Easter weekend with a lot of organizing, coordinating, medical visits, chasing dogs and scrambling to get all the regular daily responsibilities done. Animal rescue does not know any days off.
We will be updating everyone on our rescues of these last few days as we gather all the medical information and take proper pictures. In the meantime, we also work hard to make our rescues feel as comfy as possible.

In the meantime, we'll share with you a little update on CARFIE Awa. Awa is a sweetheart, he does have severe issues with his liver and we are praying the meds will help reverse the damage. He should be having a blood test again shortly to check his values. Fortunately he is playful and active and an absolute volunteer favorite. Please keep little Awa in your thoughts and send him positive energy for his speedy recover.
"Tu du du du, tu du du du, Batman!" (someone should probably tell little Awa that he's a dog, not a bat...)
Little CARFIE Awa.

Have A Pawsome New Year!

As 2015 comes to an end, we look back on a year filled with joy, sadness, laughter, tears, good times, bad times, highs, lows, hope, and at times despair, but for it all, we are proud of our accomplishments and we still stand strong in the belief that a few can make a difference in the lives of many.
Of course, we couldn't do the work we do without the help, generosity and support of our sponsors, partners, supporters, and our wonderful group of volunteers who work with us throughout the year. To all of you, we want to say: "Thank you!"

Let's hope that 2016 will bring positive changes to the way people treat animals, less animal cruelty, more animal adoptions, less neglected and abandoned dogs, more foster families who step up and more volunteers to help us save lives and continue our work.

Have a safe and wonderful New Year's Eve and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016 for you and your pets!

Warm regards,

CARF.

Merry Christmas!

On behalf of everyone (and every dog) at CARF, we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
