? 2-year-old Loela was living in the Car Park at Campo Alegre where she was being fed and taken care of by a lady with a big heart. This kind lady contacted CARF for help in treating Loela for a TVT.
�Our first priority was to spay Loela so that the tumor would not be passed on to any other dogs. Our vet discovered that she also has tick-borne disease so we will treat this before she can start chemo for the TVT.
Loela is a beautiful dog with distinctive black and tan markings. She is well-built and strong so we expect her to make a full recovery.
Loela’s not ready for rehoming yet, but stay posted for updates on this smart, stunning young dog. She is available for fostering.
Tick fever and TVTs are treatable but the medication is expensive! With 140 dogs in our care, it’s a struggle to keep our heads above water. If you can contribute in any small way, we would be so grateful for your help ???

Sandy’s turn today. She is yet another streetdog looked after by compassionate and concerned animal lovers. She had been attacked on the street but fortunately the injuries were minimal.
Sandy is a very sweet and affectionate female. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and bloodwork was done. Sandy is perfectly healthy and we would love to see her in a home where she is cared for and does not have to live her life in fear on the streets anymore.

Loela is a streetdog looked after by a very kind lady. She feeds Loela and many other dogs and provides them with monthly tick/flea prevention.
She reached out to us for help to spay Loela and provide her with chemo therapy for a TVT. Loela has been vaccinated, chipped and bloodwork will be done.
A TVT is a canine transmissible venereal tumors, also called transmissible venereal tumors, canine transmissible venereal sarcoma, sticker tumors and infectious sarcoma is a histiocytic tumor of the external genitalia of the dog and other canines, and is transmitted from animal to animal during mating.
It is of utmost importance to treat dogs male and female suffering from a TVT to avoid more spreading of this contagious disease.
If anyone is willing to offer Loela a home after her treatments; she is a pretty, super friendly and very social dog. Feel free to reach out - the streets is no life for a pet.
Please help us be able to continue to provide spaying and neutering as well as several lifesaving veterinary treatments to the many streetdogs of Curacao. We cannot do it without your support ?

It’s been a while since we’ve updated our amazing followers on Drake. This very docile and softhearted fella is doing much better but is still stuggling with some issues.
Drake is having some secondary skin infections due to the severe mange and malnutition as well as irritated eyes. His bloodwork came back showing his platelets are normal but the globulines are still high. Our fighter, however, is heartworm NEG ! ?
He’s now on new antibiotics to help his skin continue to heal and the effects of the severe tickborne disease as well as an ointment to help his irritated eyes.
Drake enjoyed the car ride, curiously looking out the window.
The road to full recovey continues for our lovely boy and if you are at all able to assist us in covering his medical expenses we would be very grateful.
