CARFIE Of The Week

​Venus and her sisters Plutonia en Urania were very young when we picked them up from the streets. They were in an unsafe situation so we moved them, together with their mommy, to a safe and loving foster home.

 Today they are strong little puppies that are looking for their lifetime home. They are 12 weeks old, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to move. Urania found her forever home, together with fellow CARFIE Roslyn, last week. Venus and Plutonia are hoping to get at least half as lucky with their 'furever family.'

Oh, his eyes, his eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining... Look at those beautiful eyes! This somewhat older gentleman had some health issues, but with the help of our loving fosters, Smikkel is a healthy stud now, patiently waiting for his 'furever family' to come and take him home.

Smikkel is a sweet, affectionate and calm dog who loves to stretch his short legs during a walk. Will you give him his well-deserved forever home?

Meet Miranda. Both Miranda and her six siblings are ready to meet their new families and move to their forever homes. They are now ten weeks old and have received their first vaccinations. They are also are microchipped.

These sturdy puppies will definitely become beautiful, larger-sized dogs! Would you like to meet this cutie pie and get to know her and her story?

Berend has come so far from a past of horrible abuse and neglect. He was so damaged emotionally and physically but he has shown such resilience and we are darn proud of his progress and his kindness.

He still has some trust issues when he first meets someone but what a difference from when he first came to us. He even loves going on walks. You go Berend!

You won't find anyone happier to see you coming home, than CARFIE Roslyn. She's a pretty relaxed dog who loves to be around people and enjoys being cuddled, but at the same time, she is also perfectly fine hanging out by herself for a while. Roslyn is more than ready to move to her forever home. Will she be the one greeting you home every day...?

Roslyn was found by two of our volunteers who happened to spot her on the side of the road. They saw Roslyn wandering along a busy street, in heat, and dragging a chain around her neck. She was skinny as can be and in desperate need of help. Together, our volunteers were able to catch Roslyn and lift her into one of their cars to take her to our vet.

Our vet took some blood from Roslyn and luckily, her results looked good. She did not have heartworm nor tick disease. She was spayed in March and she gained quite some weight at her foster home. Roslyn is feeling ánd looking much, much better these days.

Actually, she's feeling so good that we believe she's ready to move to a loving family or individual who wants to adopt her.

Meet Bolle. Bolle is a 2,5 year old boy who is past puberty but still very youthful. He loves children and is brilliant around them, as he is gentle through and through. Bolle is looking for a loving home. Will you be the one to offer him that?

Bolle can be a bit shy at first - especially around adults - but this gorgeous boy will warm up in no time. Once he feels comfortable, he is a playful, loyal and happy dog.

Meet Sam. Sam first joined the CARF family back in July this year when a caring family stopped their car after they spotted him roaming the streets. Sam was only a few weeks old at the time, he was all by himself, and he was in desperate need of help. It didn't take long for this sick little puppy to steal our hearts with his courage and fighting spirit!

Sam refused to eat and he wasn't a big fan of drinking water either. We had to feed him with a pipette every 4 hours to make sure he would gain strength and weight. But he threw up a lot and it was clear to see that he wasn't feeling well at all.

​Fortunately, after some time and a lot of TLC from his fosters and our vet, Sam made the transition from being a sick, skinny and sad puppy to a happy, healthy and handsome survivor searching for his lifetime home. He sure deserves it. Can you offer him this?​​

We would describe Berrie as a very happy and loving dog. He listens well, interacts well with other dogs and is eager to please. Berrie is very playful, but if you don't want to play with him then he will occupy himself. Isn't that great?

If you are looking for a big dog that will blend into a new home easily, please consider meeting CARFIE Ferdinand. Ferdinand is a playful and energetic dog that gets along with other dogs.

This wonderful boy has lots of life and love left in him and is very easy to have in your home. He does need a spacious yard where he can run or an owner who is willing to walk him often to get plenty of exercise.

Cuteness overload alert! On August 15th, we welcomed a momma dog and her litter of 7 puppies to the CARF family. Our 'CARF Brazil pups' are now ready for adoption. Don't say we didn't warn you...

The 'Brazil pups' were found by volunteers who spotted them in the bushes behind their yard. The puppies were ridden with fleas and ticks but after they had been cleaned up, our vet was able to confirm that they were in fairly good shape.

The seven pups were named after Brazilian top models: Adriana, Alesandra, Camila, Flavia, Francisco, Giselle and Marlon, hence their nick name 'Brazil pups'. Our vet estimated them to be only 4-5 weeks young so fortunately they had their mommy looking after them (puppies should stay with their mom until they are at least 8 weeks old)!

Over the last few weeks, our volunteers monitored and cared for momma dog and her puppies, and provided them with fresh water, flea and tick treatments, and deworming and vitamin pills. All seven puppies have now received their 2nd vaccination and have been cleared by our vet which means they are ready to move to their forever home.

Meet Margot. Margot was born around March 1st, and she has since grown into a loving and most of all, a very playful girl. Are you going to be her favorite play buddy?

Margot loves to play whether it is with other dogs, with people, or by herself with her favorite toys. She thinks everyone is here on earth to be her play buddy, and who knows, maybe you are...?

Margot is looking for her lifetime home to where she can live with her human and play all she wants.

Meet Puck. This sweet black-and-white furred girl is approximately 4 years old. She is very loving and gets along well with people and other dogs. It's time for her to be a cherished family member. Will you offer her a second chance at life and love?

Puck is a very loyal and devoted companion and she really deserves a home and a family to call her own.Her forever home is preferably one with a high fence, wall or gate around it so Puck can't go exploring outside of the yard. Other than that, she's really doesn't have too many demands.

Meet Kerley. Kerley is a happy, sweet lady who is approximately one year old. Kerley loves hugging, cuddling and kissing people. But she also makes a great guard dog once she has settled in to her new home.

UPDATE 9/5/2015: Kerley has been adopted!

Kerley has experienced quite some suffering in her short life but, despite this, she is very sweet-natured and friendly.Let’s get this girl into a fantastic forever family where she can spend the rest of her life being absolutely adored.  She’s a whole bunch of fun and she deserves a loving family!
