? UPDATE: By some miracle little Emma has made it through the night. She is still extremely weak and fighting for her life. Please keep Emma in your thoughts as her condition remains critical. She has shown that she wants to live, and our volunteers, together with our veterinary team, are doing their utmost best to make that happen!

Geen duizend woorden kunnen beschrijven hoeveel deze arme hond heeft geleden. Eerder vandaag werd zij gespot op de parkeerplaats van de Emma Kerk in Rio Canario. Ze is ernstig uitgehongerd, extreem verzwakt en volledig hulpeloos. Wij ontvingen een smeekbede om hulp en gingen meteen naar haar op zoek. Ze is zo dun, zo zwak, zo broos. Ze ziet eruit alsof de wind haar zonder moeite omver zou blazen. We hebben haar Emma genoemd.

Earlier today she was spotted at the parking lot of The Emma Church in Rio Canario; severely emaciated, extremely weakened, and totally helpless. We received a plea for help and went out to find her. She is so thin, so frail, so fragile. It looks like she could be knocked over by the wind. We’ve named her Emma.
? Emma is currently on a drip and receiving veterinary care. We're not sure yet if she is going to make it but we are determined to save her life and will do everything within our power to help.

What can we tell you about 2019? Well, it was a busy and challenging year in dog rescue — we were full, everyone was full. We've struggled, got our hands dirty, got our hearts broken (more than once), but we rescued many dogs and fortunately, found loving homes for a bunch of them.
These are the nine pictures that received the most reactions these last twelve months. We're seeing rescued puppies, before & after shots, and even CARFIES going out for gelato.
