CARFIE Of The Week

Two years. That's how long Boudino has been waiting for someone to come and take him home. We rescued Boudino as a puppy back in April 2017, together with his sisters Bruna and Bianca. Two years have passed and Boudino is still hoping that someday, someone will want to adopt him. 

We’re trying to figure out why Boudino is continuously overlooked.

​Is he not being adopted because of his size? Hmm, that can't be it. Boudino is a pretty average Westpointer-size. Not too small, not too big ― he's just right. 

Is it because of his age? At just over two years old, Boudino is sort of a goofy teenager and certainly in need of more training. But he doesn't need as much time and attention as a young puppy. He is used to walking on a leash and he enjoys going for walks and dipping his toes in the water. At two years old, Boudino still has many years of love to give.

Could it be because he's not the bravest dog in the world? Maybe ― Boudino is soft and gentle and he needs some time to get comfortable with new people. But as long as he's given time and space to adjust to his new surroundings, we think he will make a wonderful pet.

CARFIE Enrique has the looks, the puppy eyes, the beautiful hair... yes, this guy knows how to charm and steal hearts. But what he really wants is to find his forever home. Is that with you?

Enrique is about 12 weeks old. He has three (equally charming) brothers named Eduardo, Emilio and Esteban, and they are all looking for their own family to call home. They diced for it and Enrique was the lucky one to become CARFIE Of The Week this time.

Remember Jacky, our latest CARFIE Of The Week? Well, this is Coco, her sister. Coco heard that quite some people showed interest in adopting Jackie and now she is hoping that someone out there will offer her a loving home as well.

Coco wants you all to know that, once adopted, she will take her posing duties VERY SERIOUSLY. Point a camera at this pupper and she’ll work those puppy eyes like no one's business! She's a playful, happy girl who always seems to have a big smile on her face. She is socialized and she loves people. She would just really, really like a human to call her own. Could that be you?

Cutest puppy alert! Jacky is about four months old and she is a sweetheart of a girl. Jacky ​is great with other dogs and people, she greets everyone with tail wags and licks. Jacky is a true Westpointer (island dog), she is coconuts about... coconuts! But she can keep herself entertained with balls and other toys as well. 

Jacky is up-to-date on her vaccinations and she's sooo excited to spend her first ever Easter with her new family! Can you help us find her an adopter who can love and cherish her for the rest of his life? She deserves it, and will return your love tenfold.

So, you love the local Westpointers, but you are actually looking for a smaller size dog. Meet Takkie. She's a 2-3 year old smaller size dachshund-mix who is looking for a loving home.

Takkie is very, very affectionate. Our volunteers describe her as 'a cheerful little girl that loves people'. She has a lot of energy and loves to play, stroll around and go on adventures.

Takkie is already spayed, with all her shots, and micro-chipped for you... all the vet work has been done. You just need to take her home and love her. What you will get back, well, is more love than we can put on this single page.

April is sweet, loving, and well-mannered; she's great on a leash and she loves to play and swim. She is about 14 months old. She would love to find an active adopter who would take her on lots of adventures ― Doggy Beach in Jan Thiel is one of her favorites, or even just really good walks around the neighborhood. Who would like to do some serious beach hanging with this island girl?

Gary came to us emaciated, full of mange, and with a number of other issues related to his neglect. A few months down the line, Gary is a different dog. Vaccinated, micro-chipped, and with a clean bill of health, Gary is ready for his forever home. 

So, a bit more about Gary. He's a young (about two years old) and fun-loving dog with a big heart, and as you can see, he has a very photogenic face. We know that Gary will make a great pet for the right person.

Meet Giorgio; a handsome dog who's looking for just the right person to give him the chance he deserves. Giorgio is three years old. If we had to describe his personality in a few words, we'd say he's friendly, sweet (very sweet!) and loyal.

Giorgio needs someone who supports him in situations that make him insecure and who is willing to give him a cuddle every time he needs one. Some more basic training would be great for him. Giorgio is such a good, happy-go-lucky boy who just needs a little polish to help him shine! Are you up to the challenge?

Meet Thor! He's a young, handsome, friendly boy who has energy to burn. Thor enjoys going for walks and would make a great adventure buddy ― he absolutely loves to play and splash around in the water.

​She is a friendly, young dog who seeks the companionship of people and adapts well to new situations. She raised her puppies well and now she can be adopted. We are looking for a family for her where she will be treated as a full member and where she will be loved for as long as she lives. Are you looking for a squishy, loving, lively dog? Riley is your guy! He is about 2 years old and was found in a schoolyard together with doggie friend Jerry. Although they were having a blast with the kids, they clearly couldn't stay there. They came into our care and we're glad to share that Jerry has since been adopted. When will it be Riley's time?

Riley would really like to find an adopter he can pal around with, maybe even someone who has another playful dog already. A big yard to run around in would be cool, but no yard is also fine because that means more walks with his person! If you think you might be the right fit for Riley, come and meet him!

​Meet Bagheera! He is a friendly, wiggly, happy puppy who is looking for a forever family to call home. Bagheera was found roaming the streets by himself by caring tourists who contacted us. After having been in our care for a while, Bagheera is now doing fine and is ready to be adopted.

Hato is calm, easy-going, and fluffy as can be. Yet somehow, despite his many charms, Hato still hasn’t been adopted yet. He’s been at CARF for several years now and during his time with us, he has seen hundreds of dogs come and go. Although he enjoys being at our shelter, we very much wish him to have a place to call home. ​

So, what else is there to know about Hato?

• Hato is a medium sized dog.
• He's one of our first generation CARFIES.
• Can you believe Hato is TEN years old?! Neither can we, to be honest.
• This calm senior does not ask for much; food, water, and a safe and comfortable place to chill.
